Read this again as an assignment for a book club. This poem is foundational for everything that cane later. History, magic, chivalry and a love for Scotland. Canto VI has his Breathes there a man with souls so dead and O Caledonia stern and wild oft quoted section as well as the surprising Groundhog Day quote. There are some Scott works that I reread just because I enjoy reading them. This is one of them.
